Choosing exterior wall color for insect haters

Nice to meet you, my name is Sakurai, a coordinator who joined the company in January.
Thank you for your cooperation!
My first blog post is about “exterior wall color”.

There are many criteria for color selection, such as stain resistance, the recipient’s preference, etc.
Personally, I value the fact that it doesn’t attract insects!

Colors that bugs like or dislike?

Whether or not a color is likely to attract insects is influenced by
whether or not insects can recognize it and how easily it reflects ultraviolet light.

Yellow, green, and orange are common colors in
plants and pollen, so many insects clearly recognize and prefer them.

In addition, colors that tend to reflect ultraviolet rays are as follows
White, yellow, blue, etc.

Conversely, colors that are less likely to reflect UV rays (and less likely to be liked by insects) are
black, gray, brown, etc.

To summarize the above, if you want an exterior wall that is less likely to attract insects,
it is best to use a slightly darker, calmer color such as gray or brown.

However, it cannot be said that the above colors will stop all insects.
Some insects can clearly recognize yellow, some can only recognize white, some are aggressive to black,
There are various types of insects 🐛🐝 🐞 …
In addition, the environment around the exterior walls will also affect the ease with which insects are attracted.

We hope that those who dislike insects will use this as a reference so that they will not have regrets after construction!
